How to file a report: Courtesy of Chad.

    1. Create a Statement of Facts doc similar to what we produced. Try not to include anything in the document that can’t be confirmed via email or some other means (i.e. you took notes of your telephone conversation during the call or immediately after it). You need a factual timeline of everything that occurred.

    2. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau

    a. http://complaints.bbb.org

    b. Cut-&-paste your Statement of Facts doc

    3. Credit Card Purchases. In a credit card purchase dispute, the card issuer may credit your account and charge the item back to the business - if you follow certain steps.

    a. Write to your credit card issuer at the address for errors or inquiries found on your billing statement.

    b. Include vital information such as your name and account number, the date and amount of the disputed transaction and the business name and address.

    c. Describe the dispute. Explain in detail actions you have taken in good faith to resolve the complaint, and why you feel the business should not be paid.

    d. Send photocopies of any papers or other documents you believe relate to the transaction. Do not send originals!

    4. File a complaint with the Texas Attorney General’s office

    a. http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/complain.shtml

    b. KOOLPRINT is located in Harris County

    c. Business address is 6750 WEST LOOP S STE 140, BELLAIRE, TX 77401

    d. Cut-&-paste your Statement of Facts doc

    5. File a claim in Harris County Small Claims Court against VISION SYSTEMS LTD CO. dba KOOLPRINT

    a. If you paid by credit card, I wouldn’t file a claim. You’ll be more likely to get a refund from the credit card company. If you paid by cash, check, or wire transfer, Small Claims Court may be your only recourse to getting money back.

    b. Read information about Texas small claims court found here: http://www.culpepperlaw.com/jpclaims.htm

    c. Read instructions for Harris Count Small Claims found here:

    http://www.jp.hctx.net/civil/Civil.pdf

    d. Fill out the attached Small Claims Petition Form. Whatever value you put in the amount field you better have written documentation to prove it. Although we spent several hours dealing with the Koolprint and processing our claim, we are only requesting the amount that we paid Koolprint for our order (no mailing fees, hourly wages, lost sales, etc.) A judge is only going to award you loses you can prove in writing and probably only what you paid to Koolprint for printing.

    e. Print out Statement of Facts doc and have it and The Small Claims Petition form both notarized. (Note: you do not need to take the Petition form to the Harris County Court in person if you aren’t located in the Houston area – you just need to have it notarized).

    f. It costs $15 to file the claim and $65 for the sheriff to “serve” the papers to the Defendant (in this case Koolprint). So you’ll need a money order or cashier’s check for $80

    g. Send documents & payment to:

    Judge Gorczynski
    Small Claims Court
    7300 N. Shepherd, Rm 138
    Houston, TX 77091

    h. Wait about six weeks – If you have not heard anything within six weeks, call (713) 697-1224 and check on the status of your case. Realize that if you file a claim, you may have to go to Houston, TX to present your case.

Received this email from an ex-employee of Kool Print.

    ——————–

I just studied your efforts for KoolPrint these are great. I am one of
    the employees of that company.

When I was employed by KoolPrint i was told that it is US based company and we are providing services from Pakistan. But then i realize that they are cheating the customers as well as us. Shami Khoker is Pakistani National but he left Pakistan, long time ago.

His real name is Ehtisham Shami Khoker. He has exploited not only the customers but also all the employees. He has not only cheated USA or UK but also Pakistan.

    Anyway I appreciate your efforts.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Dear John,

It is a great effort to bring victims of Shami at one forum/blog spot. I have seen your website koolprintproblems.com and impressed.

You might not be knowing me but I appreciate your efforts to bring Shami Khokhar’s (owner of Koolprint) real face before the world. In fact my son, Fawad Khan Pasha is also a victim at his hands.

Shami, whose actual name is Muhammad Ahtasham Khokhar son of Muhammad Kaleem Khokhar, belongs to the city of Lahore, Pakistan. I also live in the same city. It is here where whole the printing was done besides some sophisticated printing in Turkey. He got employed local staff who posed themselves as US citizens and used to take print orders on line, design them and get them printed at the printing press of his brother Jooni. All the printing was then shipped from Pakistan and Turkey to USA to be sold at exorbitant rates. Software Solutions is the Pakistan faction of Koolprint which is still being run by the brother of Shami. About 2/3 years back, they have shifted location from Aiwan-e-Iqbal to some unknown place.

In May 2005 Shami approached me through a common friend, Tariq Chaudry, and asked for some financial help for expanding the business. My son paid him $ 200,000 after proper documentation and contracts. Again in the year 2006 he obtained another $100,000 for establishing a branch of Koolprint in Dubai, UAE. He opened a company Koolprint Uae there also. For some time he paid some profit on the lending but after that he just disappeared from the scene. Now my son’s whole life earning is in doldrums.

Please include me as one of the victims of Shami and help to get my son’s money back from that swindler. I can help for getting any information regarding his antecedents in Pakistan. Please also advise further line of action to be taken.

    Regards and good wishes,

    Tahir Anwar Pasha
